Mike Rumph

A native of Delray Beach, Florida, Rumph was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round (27th overall) of the 2002 NFL draft. . He attended Atlantic High School where he was a multi-sport star. Rumph garnered numerous awards on the football field as including a National Recruiting Advisor All-American selection, a Super Prep All-America nod, and was named as the top defensive back by Street & Smith's. . Rumph was an All-State second-team selection his junior year and also lettered in basketball and track at Atlantic. Rumph stayed in Florida for college and became a University of Miami Hurricane. He started 36-of-44 games over four years at Miami and wrapped up his career with 164 tackles (117 solo), plus recorded six interceptions and ran one back for a touchdown. He never allowed a touchdown reception in three years as a starter. Mike was a part of a Hurricane squad that won the National Championship game against Nebraska in the Rose Bowl in 2001. He was a Liberal Arts major at the University of Miami.
